Zhang Wei 張瑋

With more than 15-year working experience in documentary, Zhang Wei has established herself as a senior producer and director in China. She has more than 20 films and TV series under her belt. Her work Desert River, a documentary about the history of desertification control in China, won the Best Jury Award in Nature and Environment at the 2011 Sichuan TV Festival International Gold Panda Award for Documentary.
Making documentaries has brought Wei to many parts of the world, such as Southeast Asia, the United States, Egypt, Israel, Tunisia, etc.. She participated in numerous international co-production, including working as the production manager of the China-Canada co-production Tricks on the Dead: The Story of the Chinese Labour Corps in WWI, which won the Award of the Best International Co-production at the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival in 2015.
